Adding a shared calendar to your Outlook application (Windows, Mac, and Mobile devices)

To open a shared calendar (college events, shared room calendar, etc.) in your Outlook application follow these steps.

 

Note! The color selected for the Calendar will be used to identify that calendar's events when it is overlaid with another calendar or when it is setup to be viewed side-by-side with another calendar.

 

Windows Operating System (Win10)

1) In the Outlook application, switch from your e-mail to your calendar

2) When you have switched over to your calendar, click Open Calendar in the ribbon at the top.

3) From the drop-down menu, select Open Shared Calendar.

4) In the Open a Shared Calendar dialog box, enter in the name of the calendar you want to add to your Outlook applications and then OK.

5) This will place the selected calendar in your Shared Calendars list, and you will see it listed to the right of your current calendar(s).

Mac Operating System (macOS)

1) In the Outlook application, switch from your e-mail to your calendar.

2) When you have switched over to your calendar, click on Open Shared Calendar in the ribbon at the top.

3) In the Open Calendar window, enter in the name of the calendar you want to add to your Outlook application.  Select the current email and then click Open.

4) This will place the calendar in your list of calendars and open the calendar to the right of your most recent calendar.

 

 

 

Mobile Devices (Android/iOS)

 

1) In the Outlook application, switch from your e-mail to your calendar.

2) Click on the hamburger menu to open the calendar options.  From there, click on the Add Calendar option.

 

3) This will open additional calendar options.  From these, click on Add a shared calendar.

4) Enter in the name of the calendar you which to add to the Outlook applications and then the "+" to the right of the correct calendar.

 

5) Make sure to check the box to include the new calendar to the Outlook application view pane.
